Spotted a few fresh bits from the design world that I like—and you might enjoy too.

Was I ever really a follower of trends, or did I simply buy what suited my body shape, skin tone, and personal style? Hmm. I recently saw someone wearing a neon-pink mini skirt, and it instantly jogged my memory. Years ago, I owned a short A-line satin skirt with buttons down the centre front — a piece that, realistically, a girl with chunkier, wobblier thighs like myself probably shouldn’t have worn. So yes, I have followed trends in the past, but for the most part, I go with what suits me.

Whether you embrace them fully or ignore them altogether, trends matter because they help define the direction of a season. The key thing to remember? You don’t have to follow every single one — they’re simply there to guide, inspire, and be interpreted in a way that works for you.

Researching what's supposed to be hot in 2026 - there was a plethora and honestly from Blue, Emerald, 80's shoulder silhouettes, this, that .....crikey - so many. So with that in mind, I chose a few of these hot cake items that I could see myself wearing during the year and beyond. And honestly none of these are revolutionary - so no real caution has to be thrown to the wind.

Denim - Slouchy Jacket & top styles, cropped and slimmer leg jeans styles

The colour Fuschia - from accessories to clothing

Sculptural silver jewellery - dainty is out - time to go bold

Love This

The warm brown and metallic tones, tactile textures and photography.

Ralph Lauren's Pre Fall 2026 collection.

A good example of layering with the scarf, drapey jacket, belt and top.

Even with the models baby face, I love the grown up feel of this dress and the styling with the belt over the wide leg trousers.

2025 is coming to a close, and with that comes reflection. Can I be honest? I’ve been less focused on fashion this year than I normally am. My focus has mainly been music — the two, of course, intertwine.

My year as a lover of fashion closes with silk and cotton scarves as my hero pieces of the year. They’ve been my go-to for hair coverage, with accessories following closely behind. At this stage of my life game, it’s about accumulating here and there, building on whatever you already have — budget notwithstanding. There really is something for everyone out there. I’ve picked up some real gems from the local flea market.

Celeb style, of course, influences and bounces off street style, and I’ve seen some great looks this year with a noticeable emphasis on the eclectic. Hopefully next year I’ll have images of some of the people I’ve seen on the street who’ve looked incredible.

Fashion business–wise, there have been a lot of changes within the major fashion houses, with designers coming and going through the revolving door — from Olivier Rousteing leaving Balmain to the quick changeover at Versace. Designers like JW Anderson continue to bring life to their eponymous labels while taking on additional creative work at the house of Dior. And of course there was the passing of Giorgio Armani - someone I'm sure many established designers will have been influenced by.

There are of course trend predictions for next year, but that will come in a follow up post.

Copying Suits.

Colman Domingo Wore Valentino Haute Cout

Coleman Domingo - always. I love the minimalist and retro cut of this suit and the mustard colour works  beautifully with his overcoat..

I saw a pic of The Rock looking great in this blue ensemble, so went on the hunt to find other male celebs looking just as good in their suitage. Here they are..

Jonathan Bailey at the #emmys wearing a

Jonathan Bailey - adding to the chicness in this tuxedo  with the off colour sateen shirt. I feel like his and the rock's could be from the same design family with wing tip lapels and relaxed trouser style.

This is a striking combination - with all elements , including the helmet, working well to  make a bold statement.

A perfect white suit for the sunnier season.

The classic double breast and gold buttons really centre your eye  with perfect complementary styling via the brown shoes and tie.

Randoms

These bits really caught my eye—from statement necklaces and cow-print shoes to bow earrings and comfy trousers that’ll hopefully make the festive bloat a little more bearable.

More delicious accessories - some for the fire some for the ice

Out There

The Big Freeze

Here are some must-have accessories to keep you warm and stylish these colder months. And if you’re soaking up the sunshine, these chic headscarves make a versatile option you can dress up or down.

Coats:

It's becoming quite nippy out so I need a new winter coat. I'm thinking something sleek and tailored but as long as it keeps me warm I'm good. Here's a selection of what's out there.

I like this dogs tooth jacket because of the red colour and the impact it would make but I'm looking for something longer.

While searching my eye was mostly drawn to the fuller pea styles and warmer colours. The Burberry check will always be "in" and fits into what's on trend and currently available in  stores.

Spotted:

More celeb outfits!!  Some aren't so recent but the colours do fit into the celestial theme of the season.

Man
Stylish Accessories

Writing about the headscarf’s comeback for both men and women — got me thinking that most men probably wouldn't want to drape a scarf over the head, but some may still want a little extra flair added to their look. That’s where the cravat comes in. Think of it as the day-to-night equivalent of heels for women — a simple accessory that instantly elevates any outfit. Whether tucked into a blazer, worn under a shirt, or tied stylishly around the neck, it’s the perfect finishing touch.

Spotted:

From celeb style to outfits I’ve spotted out in the wild — these are the looks I can’t get enough of. Let's start with celebs in some celestial colours.

Around Town

I took a quick jaunt to the shops today, and it turned out to be a real mixed bag — part hunting for gifts, part being drawn to things that simply caught my eye, and part picking up those Christmas essentials. Quite a random assortment, but that’s the beauty of life sometimes, isn’t it? Below are some of those mixed-bag bits — you can work out which is which.

Dressing

The festive season is fast approaching—work parties, social gatherings, and everything in between. Now’s the time to take a look through your wardrobe to see what you already have that could work, or perhaps pop out for something new. Whether your current wardrobe has just what you need or you're planning to buy something new, here are some outfit combos to inspire you.

Woman

I'm always up for a good outfit combo, and when these popped up on Pinterest, I knew I had to share them. They’re a lovely mix of colours, textures, and styles that can flatter any body shape or personal style. A couple are a bit matchy matchy but it's for inspo isn't it, you don't have to redo each look piece by piece.

Man

fashion tidbits

Am I the only one who feels like men’s wardrobes often fall into a safe, bland rotation of blues, greys, and blacks? Surely not. There have to be more women who love seeing a man in colours that complement not just his skin tone, but his swag, too.

I always say men’s options are limited — but then I’ll spot an outlier. A guy in a warm orange jacket, a deep mustard pullover, or even a red blazer. And suddenly, I know: it’s not about what's available. It’s about how he thinks.

Maybe I’m assuming — but it seems like men limit themselves. Maybe it's about playing it safe. After all, men are simple creatures sometimes, aren't they? If something works, there’s no need to ruffle any style feathers, right?

But listen, fellas: whatever you usually reach for, take a second look. Stores are full of rich, vibrant tones right now — hues that echo the autumn mood and suit every complexion. Why not lean in a little? Add a splash of colour to your rotation. Show us who you really are.

The Burgundy & Pink mix from the last couple of seasons is one of my favorites. It's dramatic yet soft at the same time, creating a perfect balance. With the weather being so unpredictable lately, the pieces below can serve as inspiration for outfits that work no matter the conditions—rain or shine.
